Electric Vehicles and Environment:
Vehicles and environment, a combination that in some cases clashes. Very often vehicles are not for the environment but against it. Fortunately, in recent years we have seen an increase of the sensibility for the pollution problems.  In winter days, when no rain falls, pollution due to fine particles increases often exceeding the limits. Nowadays there are different solutions to try to pollute less, the use of electric vehicles is one of them and ,view the current state of technology, it is also the most reliable.
Alkè produces electric vehicle since 2000. This vehicles are solving the problem of pollution especially in historic centers, in limited traffic areas and in general in those places where there is a high concentration of vehicles in narrow spaces. An important thing is how we produce the electricity. If we produce electricity with traditional systems, the pollution is reduced to 37% compared to that produced by a petrol or diesel vehicle.
 
The ideal solution would be to produce electricity cleanly, for example with solar photovoltaic panels, and then use that energy with electric vehicles.
We have calculated that for a full recharge of the drive batteries you need around 12kWh. We made an example with a  photovoltaic system with a power of 3kW.

In conclusion with a system like that we can cover from 70% to 80% of the daily consumption of an electric vehicle Alkè ATX200E. A lot of our costumers ask us if it is possible to use one of our electric vehicle putting solar panels on it, this solution is NOT practicable because we have only 1 or 2 mq and this is not enough to recharge the set of batteries.

During the operational life an electric vehicle, as well as make more less pollution, have maintenance costs that are about 4 times lower than that for diesel / petrol vehicles. Another important aspect for choosing electric vehicles is the energy saving: an electric vehicle  has a lower consumption compared with a diesel or petrol vehicle. Think that the cost for a recharge of a set of drive batteries is around 1,5 – 2,0 euros and allows the vehicle to work for the full day.
 
 
Another aspect that is often underestimated in the use of electric vehicles is the noise pollution, if you live near a road or highway just open the window and can hear how much noise comes from vehicles in transit. Electric vehicles are quiet, do not disturb citizens and this is the benefit for a better quality of life. This aspect is very important, and for this reason many villages and resorts are converting theit entire fleet into electric vehicles: zero noise pollution. With electric vehicles is also possible to work at 5 o'clock in the morning while customers sleep, carry the dirty linen, garbage and generally move without any interference.
